Starting to read 1984 by Orwell

i bought the book for a number of reasons:.

1. it sounds brill.. 2. it sounds like the kind of people who read are rather clever and well educated (and i want to be one of them).. 3. i may find it interesting how it relates to the jws.. regarding the latter, does anyone have any thoughts and feeling on this point, or is there anything i should look out for when comparing what orwell writes about with the jws?.

A powerful book. I read it nearly 50 years ago and it still rings true. When you've read that, if you enjoy it try Animal Farm.

You will find more "meat in due season" in George Orwell than in a month od Sudays attending your local KH.

The point is there are ---- plenty of fish. Don't hook up with some one who is so obviously out of sinc with you and your feelings. I think that many years of conditioning in the borg mean we are too trusting. Develop a healthy scepticism but keep you eyes open. When the right opportunity comes, recognise it, ride it and be ready to at least take some emotional risk.

Its like investing your savings, you have to evaluate your attitude to risk and weigh up what you can gain and lose. Good luck!.

bone marrow is the flexible tissue found in the interior of bones.

in humans, bone marrow in large bones produces new blood cells.. it is the engine room of our vascular system producing and releasing red cells, white cells, plasma and platelets into our blood stream.. funnily enough, marrow was not excluded from the hebrew diet even though it contained the blood cells :.

apparently they have just discovered a completely new type of spider in a cave in southern oregon, very different from other spiders.

i thought this was a very interesting find.. "the 'cave robber', a newly discovered spider believed to be one of the most 'evolutionary unique' on the planet.".

i think these olympics have been outstanding.

i know i speak from a gb perspective but it seems that the spirit, organisation and wholehearted support of these games has been outstanding.

i have not been near london during the last two weeks but it feels like everyone in the country is in a state of euphoria.. is this just because we were the hosts?

so we have a jw next door who went to the assembly over the w/e.

yesterday she gave 'gift' to my wife for my kids.. that's right it was the sparlock dvd.

i didn't know about the gift until i saw my kids watching it this morning.. is it safe to let my kids watch it?.

You could follow the video. Tell your kids that Jehovah doesn't like baseless propagander and throw it in the bin. That would be one way.

Or ... you could go through it and reason how the message is baseless propagander and help your children learn something.

It seems to me that the only genuine charity, rebuilds after natural disasters only happen with hastily assembled resources from neibouring countries. They are rarely funded from WT coffers. Big hearted people arrive on their own ticket and muck in. Generous people donate towards the issue. The society takes the credit. Sometimes, randomly a non-witness gets their house rebuilt (that always makes the WT).

In short, individuals give mightily. The WT protects it's resources.
